Seen Him? Man Stole Handbags Valued At $500 At Smith Haven Mall, Police Say

An alert has been issued by the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and investigators in the Suffolk County Police Department’s Fourth Precinct as they attempt to track down a man who allegedly stole hundreds of dollars in handbags from the Smith Haven Mall.

On Friday, July 26, investigators released a surveillance photo of a man who allegedly stole three bags from Macy’s at the mall that have an estimated value of $500. The items were stolen at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17.

In the photo, the suspect can be seen in dark pants, a black shirt and sporting a black hat and sunglasses walking out of the store with the allegedly stolen merchandise.

The Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information regarding the stolen bags has been asked to contact Suffolk County Police Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-220-TIPS or texting “SCPD” with the tip to 274637.
